I was born in 1967 in Hong Kong. Whilst still very young I moved back to England with my family. For a few years we all lived in a shed in Shropshire. As a young child, I enjoyed pushing a trolley full of coloured bricks around the garden and eating coal, whilst sporting a Beatles haircut and a tartan mini skirt. Later we moved to Yorkshire in the north of England.<\/p>\n

I have always loved drawing and making things from old cereal boxes and sellotape. Although sadly never reaching the dizzy heights of winning a Blue Peter badge I persevered with my artistic studies at Local schools before taking my degree at Edinburgh College Of Art. I thought of becoming a graphic designer but soon realized that illustration allowed me more freedom and enjoyment.<\/p>\n

Since leaving Art College I have been working as a freelance illustrator. I illustrated various magazines and newspapers before moving into children’s picture book illustration. My first book ” I Can Do It ” was published by ABC in 1993. Later I created the popular “Lulu” series with Orchard Books. Publishing clients now include Orchard Books, Scholastic Children’s Books, Hodder Children’s Books, Macmillan, Egmont and Bloomsbury Children’s. I also illustrated a regular feature for Practical Professional Childcare for a number of years.<\/p>\n

I consider myself to be an illustrator but I do enjoy writing very much . Most of my published titles have been written as well as illustrated by me.<\/p>\n

Although most of my recent work has been involved with children’s publishing I am interested in all aspects of art and design and would be happy to accept commissions\u00a0 from other sources.<\/p>\n

In the near future I hope to start selling prints of my artwork.<\/p>\n
